DESCRIPTION:Born and raised in Istanbul\, Turkey\, Deray Barboros is a Berlin-based artist whose work explores pastoral themes\, love\, and vulnerability\n\n\nBAR BOBU proudly presents live on stage: \n \nDERA BARBOROS \nand \nGAVIN TOLIMIERI MAJKOWSKI TRIO \n \ndoors: 19h \ndonation based \n \nBorn and raised in Istanbul\, Turkey\, Deray Barboros is \na Berlin-based artist whose work explores pastoral \nthemes\, love\, vulnerability\, heartbreak\, self-discovery\, \nand the profound connection between humanity and \nnature. With a nostalgic nod to the songwriting styles \nof the 1950s\, 1960s\, and 1970s\, she crafts vulnerable \nand relatable songs in the Folk\, Country\, Americana\, \nand Bluegrass genres. Influenced by legends such as \nTownes Van Zandt\, Peggy Lee\, Leonard Cohen\, Hank \nWilliams\, and Patsy Cline\, she merges her own unique \nvoice with timeless qualities. As an active member of \nBerlin’s vibrant folk music scene\, she contributes \nthrough live shows and collaborations\, aiming to touch \npeople’s heartstrings and express herself authentically. \nShe sometimes performs with her band\, Deray \nBarboros & Her Magnificent Chickens (with Sebastian \nHoch & Daniel Reid)\, adding a rich\, dynamic energy to \nher music. Currently\, she is recording at the Famous \nGoldwatch Studios. \nTHE GAVIN TOLIMIERI MAJKOWSKI TRIO  is exploring and deconstructing the psych-folk songs of Joey Gavin\, with open-ended arrangements through texturally-focused improvisation and experimentation\, crossing the realms of jazz\, Irish traditional music\, psychedelia and alt-folk. The group came together through a mutual love of these genres\, and through collaborations in various performances in the experimental music scene in Berlin.
