For the past 20 years, Mauricio Fleury from São Paulo, Brazil, has been making music happen, whether as a DJ and producer or playing different instruments across various styles. His collaborations in concerts and recordings cover almost the entire spectrum of what is most interesting in contemporary Brazilian music and its fusion with hip-hop, jazz, rock or just MPB, and has already performed and/or recorded with artists such as Gal Costa, João Donato, Marlena Shaw, Orlando Julius, Tony Allen, Ben Lamar Gay, Marcos Valle, Quantic, Instituto Mexicano de Sonido y Toy Selectah, amongst others. Now based in Berlin, he is playing his original songs that mix soulful string arrangements with Brazilian and Afrobeat grooves. For this concert, they’re also playing a tribute to the late maestro João Donato.
