Bîdar is an accomplished musician hailing from İstanbul, Turkey. Her journey in music began during her primary school years when she learned to play the piano. Her passion for music eventually led her to explore singing during her high school years, which marked the beginning of her formal training. Bîdar continued her musical education at İstanbul Bilgi University where she studied under renowned teachers such as Tolga Tüzün, Selen Gülün, Tolga Zafer Özdemir, Turgut Pöğün, and Mine Erkaya. In 2015, she graduated from the university, after which she pursued further studies in jazz harmony with Baki Duyarlar, jazz history with Şevket Akıncı, and jazz vocals with Başak Yavuz at Bahçeşehir University for six months.
During her university years, Bîdar was also a member of the Boğaziçi Jazz Choir and performed in more than 70 concerts around Turkey in 2013. She honed her vocal and improvisation skills under the tutelage of Elif Çağlar for one and a half years. In 2017, Bîdar participated in the IKSV “Young Caz” competition, where she showcased her original compositions and performances. She performed at the 24th İstanbul Jazz Festival, earning recognition and appreciation for her unique sound and style. Since September 2018, Bîdar has been actively performing her songs at various festivals and concert halls.
Bîdar’s academic pursuits continued as she pursued a Master’s degree in “Sonic Arts” at İstanbul Technical University’s Music for Advanced Studies (MIAM) program. She completed her Master’s education in May 2019, furthering her understanding of music and its nuances.
In March 2018, Bîdar released her first Turkish single “Oyun”, which was followed by live performances of “Here and Now” and “Home”. In October 2019, she released her first English single “First Trip”, which was a tender journey of Bîdar’s introspection where she is looking to come to terms with her past while flashing back and forth between the dark and light. Bîdar’s second Turkish single “Uzak” was released in January 2020 and featured a music video directed by Dicle Naz Tohumcu. During the pandemic period, Bîdar continued to write music and collaborate with other musicians. She also joined Ediz Hafızoğlu‘s band “Nazdrave” and performed in various venues and festivals. Most recently, on June 24, 2022, Bîdar released her single “Yersiz Korkuların”, which was accompanied by an animated lyric video.
„Labeled as a rare type of project both in Turkey and worldwide, ‚İçi Kafamın‘ (In My Mind’s Eye) a visual album narrating a story through 4 consecutive music videos, shared its first single ‚Zaman Zaman‘ on March 17th and the second single ‚Sarmaşık‘ on April 14th. Bîdar released the continuation of the series, the third single ‚Smokin‘ on May 19th, and the fourth one ‚Lacivert Çarşaflar‘ on June 16th. Bîdar’s latest production in 2023, the song ‚KAPSÜL‘ was released on December 1st.
Currently, Bîdar is engaged in collaborating with international artists in music and preparing for upcoming live performances in the near future.“
Combo Royal feat. Deena
