Day trip to the Harz mountains with a cable car ride

**The Harz** is a highland area in northern Germany. It has the highest elevations for that region, and its rugged terrain extends across parts of Lower Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, and Thuringia.

**The town Thale** offers variety in the Harz for young and old. After arriving from Berlin we will take a cable car to the Hexentanzplatz.

During the ride you can marvel at the phenomenal view of the Brocken, rugged rocks, green slopes, impressive white water and the sandstone formation of the Teufelsmauer, one of the oldest nature reserves in Germany. After arriving to Hexentanzplatz (witches dance place) we will hike in the mountains enjoying the heartbreaking views of the area.
**Hexentanzplatz** is a place that whispers secrets of ancient folklore and natural wonders. Translating to „Witches‘ Dance Floor“ in English, this enigmatic site has long been steeped in legends and tales that echo through the ages.

**Schedule**

07.20 we take train from Berlin (i will share the exact meeting point in the WhatsApp group)
10.40 arriving to Thale
10.40 – 16.00 – cable car ride and hike
16.00 dinner in the town
17.17/18.17 train back to Berlin
21.00/22.00 arriving to Berlin

**Costs**

**Tickets** – you can use your Deutschland ticket (otherwise you can buy ticket in the train, it costs 18 euro one way)
**Organizing expense** – **13€** (PayPal habibuscha@gmail.com). If you want to make a bank transfer, please write to the host.
**Cable car** – **9 euro**

**You can cancel with a full refund until 11.00 29th March!**

**What to bring**

Enough cash, water, enough food for the whole day, hiking shoes.
