Born and raised in Istanbul, Turkey, Deray Barboros is

a Berlin-based artist whose work explores pastoral

themes, love, vulnerability, heartbreak, self-discovery,

and the profound connection between humanity and

nature. With a nostalgic nod to the songwriting styles

of the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s, she crafts vulnerable

and relatable songs in the Folk, Country, Americana,

and Bluegrass genres. Influenced by legends such as

Townes Van Zandt, Peggy Lee, Leonard Cohen, Hank

Williams, and Patsy Cline, she merges her own unique

voice with timeless qualities. As an active member of

Berlin’s vibrant folk music scene, she contributes

through live shows and collaborations, aiming to touch

people’s heartstrings and express herself authentically.

She sometimes performs with her band, Deray

Barboros & Her Magnificent Chickens (with Sebastian

Hoch & Daniel Reid), adding a rich, dynamic energy to

her music. Currently, she is recording at the Famous

Goldwatch Studios.

THE GAVIN TOLIMIERI MAJKOWSKI TRIO is exploring and deconstructing the psych-folk songs of Joey Gavin, with open-ended arrangements through texturally-focused improvisation and experimentation, crossing the realms of jazz, Irish traditional music, psychedelia and alt-folk. The group came together through a mutual love of these genres, and through collaborations in various performances in the experimental music scene in Berlin.
