Growing up in a small, rugged city, Meravi (aka Merav Goldman) found solace in the French horn. As a little girl navigating life’s challenges, she took refuge in the transformative power of music. Guided by the classical landmarks, including immersive studies in New York, Meravi’s connection with the horn became a vessel through which she explored an expansive array of musical genres.

Alongside her fruitful classical career, in Germany and world-wide, Meravi always had an interest in other music genres but playing the horn outside the classical concert halls was a challenging choice. After moving to Berlin, she could focus on this aspect of her music, and as a result, she is a member of the Berlin based bands Move 78 and Jembaa Groove, and has worked with numerous emerging Berlin artists.

During her life, Meravi made several attempts at writing music on the guitar or the keyboard, instruments on which she has basic skills. Only after she got familiar with music editing programs,she could finally use the horn to write music. Composing never felt more natural and almost necessary to her.  As a master of her instrument, she could now reinvent its use in unconventional ways.

All this has led her to the making of Golden Sign, her upcoming debut solo album. 

The album puts the horn at the center, both musically and emotionally. The horn is referred to as the „Golden Sign“ which the artist follows throughout her life. Within the soundscape of the album, you’ll find weaves of day-dreamy horn layers, complemented by the rhythmic mastery of her favorite Berlin-based drummers, all topped with her misty vocals. Her poetic inspiration is drawn from the simple complexities of day-to-day life in Berlin. „I like walking around the city, drifting through streets and thoughts, then going back home and writing songs about it“, she says with a smile.

Meravi’s musical mission extends beyond convention. Her aspiration is to break down boundaries, merging musical worlds to create a fluid interaction. Part of her vision is to initiate a wider cultural shift, encouraging others to break free from restrictions and embrace the unfamiliar. Through her music, she seeks to inspire people to overcome fears and welcome the beauty found in what may seem different or impossible.
