Poor Saint Lazaraus is a
berlin-based alternative band.

In late 2016, shortly after their first encounter in West Berlin, Nikita Noebel and Maurice Alexander Stegen (who often performs under his alias Maury Noble) created. Both notorious figures of the metropolitan nightlife, their sound explores themes of decadence, love & despair with their musical influences ranging from Bob Dylan to Devendra Banhart. The interplay between Noebel‘s craze for playing archaic chords on antique guitars and Stegen‘s sung poetry (written down frantically on his grandfather‘s typewriter), seems to be the essence of this musical endeavour. Stegen‘s untrained baritone voice is reminiscent of Johnny Cash as well as Nick Cave.

Their debut extended play High Places was released on October 24th 2019.
With inspiration taken from daytime bloody marys, late night margaritas and crooning in Berlin’s darkest karaoke bars, High Places feels like starring in a neo-noir film followed by the second EP Fine where PSL explore gritty sounds and hazey spheres.

Meet Cactus for Breakfast, a surf rock crew hailing from Berlin – a city nowhere close to the waves. Our tunes are a melting pot of western cowboy grit, bluesy soul, and the high-energy vibes of surf rock.Formed in 2023, we are cooking up our first EP set to make waves in Summer 2024. Hold on tight, we’re about to ride!
